Here is my situation:

I came to Germany in October 2006, did my masters from October 2006 to January 2009 (27 Months)(Aufth §16)

I am working full time (unlimited work contract) from April 2009 to July 2010 (15 Months)(Aufth §18). Right now my work permit is company dependent.

My question is am I eligible for "Beschäftigung erlaubt" (Company independent visa) as I am completing 4 years is Germany in October 2010.

Hi,

I think you need to pay Rente for 3 years to get this company independent visa. In my case they asked me for some letter from Rente office which stated for how many months I had paid Rente and once they could confirm it that it was paid for more than 36 months, they stamped it.
