Hi I am doing masters from germany. I am starting my praktikum in may for 6 months. I am doing freiwillige praktikum, Its not compulsory by the university.

DO I require work permit to do an internship/ Praktikum?

You need not to do anything. Just start the Praktikum!

I am current a undergrad student in the United states and now I have the opportunity to do an internship in Stuttgart, Germany. I was curious If I needed a working permit to do the internship at Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG. If so would I have to receive a working stamp in my passport and pay taxes to the German government?
