file tax return after leaving Germany

Toggle
Hi!
I left Germany in May 2006 and now live in the Netherlands. I did a student job in Germany till then. How can I submit the Einkommensteuererklaerung for 2006? Can I do it using Elster directly or is there some other procedure because I dont live in Germany any longer?
Thanks for any reply!

Hi Kar,

Based on couple of my Friends experience, i can say that the procedure is quite normal and in fact the same, except that if you get any money back from Finanzamt, you would need to furnish your full bank details of the country you live in, and havent heard or experienced paying back to finanzamt.

But the above has been the case for persons who had worked in germany and left germany. As a student it might not vary so much.

I advice you to contact a Tax Consultant here in Germany and get the Tax Declaration done.
