First of all thank you to everyone who have participated in various discussions in helping each other. That makes me believe a little help & co-operation and we could make this world a better place. <3

So, hoping that someone would help me with my questions.

Background: I'm from Bangalore and I got a job in Hamburg, Germany. I need to join on Oct 15th 2015. I plan to apply for employment visa from Bangalore and then apply for blue card once I'm in Germany. I have been given company accommodation for the first couple of months within which I need to make my own arrangements. My wife plans to join me in December.

Questions
1. Considering that I need to join work in October and my wife plans to join me in December, should I apply for our visas together or should I get there, process my blue card and then as her to apply for her visa?
2. If we are to apply together, which application form should she be filling and what supporting documents are required?

Employment visa application question
The application has following fields for which I don't know the right entries
1. 'Residence Permit number' and 'Valid until'. I don't have this. What should I fill it as?

2. 'Intended duration of stay in Germany' with 'From' and 'To' columns. Since it is a permanent job, I'm not sure what should I be filling here.

3. 'I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay'. This is a checkbox. Since I'm sure that my employment would be more than this, I'm not sure if I should be checking this.

4. 'Do you have health insurance that covers the Federal Republic of Germany?' with 'Yes' and 'No' option. If I have to get one, how do I go about it?

Could someone please answer these for me?

Good ,

You can apply the visa for your wife as well and she can travel on December.

Question 1: Fill "NA"
Question 2: Though its permanent job, there will be inital contract mentioned in your offer letter for eg 1 year etc., later it will be extended. Mention the start date and end date of your contract.
Question 3: Yes
Question 4: If your employer is providing you the Health Insurance then fill "Yes".

By the way I am also going to Hamburg. My Visa interview on next week.

For my wife and I to apply together, what application should she be filling and what supporting documents should be provided? How would this be linked as a dependent visa with my employment visa?

From what I understand
Question 1: I fill NA for residence permit.
Question 2: My contract letter says that the employment starts on October 15th and the first 6 months would be probationary period and It also says 'The employment contract is concluded for an indefinite term'. So should I update the end date as indifinite?
Question 3: I should be ticking the checkbox.
Question 4:My contract letter doesn't mention anything about health insurance. Should I be taking care of this or should I just tick 'NO'?

When are you reaching Hamburg?

Hi,

You have to fill the same application separetly for you and your wife. so it will be two application and 2 DD.

Question 2: Usually the visa is given only for 12 month. It has to been extended after reach there, is what I got information. So the end date has to be mentioned as 12 months from the start of your job.

Question 3: Yes.

Question 4: You can mention. NO - It will be taken after reaching germany.

My appointment is on this Thrusday . So we have to take 2 DD separtely or 1 DD covering 4400 * 2 =9800.?

Sine they mentioned DD amount might change based on the currency rates. Is it ok if I take the DD on Wednesday ( Tomorrow).

Hey,

Finding apartment there is really hard i heard. You will find one on your own if you are lucky. Else you will have to go through a broker. But they charge upto 1000 Euros as commision. I plan to go there any try for a month, else go through a broker.

My guess is that it should be 2 seperate DD's. Thats what you mentioned earlier..

Getting a DD tomorrow should be absolutely fine but I suggest you check the website before you leave to see if they have updated the fee amount.
Their website says 'Shortly before your appointment, please verify the current exchange rate
for your visa fee on this website and obtain the Demand Draft.'

Aren't you supposed to join work on September 15th? Do you think you will get your visa by then?

Yes my joining date is Sep 15th. Based the Visa stamping It can be extended.

My appointment is at 11:40 AM. Can you please let me know what documents are you carrying for spouse visa? Is there a personal covering letter to be written. If Yes, could you please share it?

Just now I have taken 2 DD from HDFC Bank. Take it today itself seems some Bandh tomorrow.

Yep. Got the DD.

I haven't got a travel insurance yet. I will, when I book the tickets. You can get one online and take the print out. I don't think we need it for the interview.

I just checked, travel insurance is required. Refer the check list.

In case of visa approval, you will be requested to present a travel health insurance (Kindly refer to www.india.diplo.de/visato find out about the travel health insurances accepted)

For me, Completed the interview.  Waiting for the result.

I thought one appointment is enough for me and for my wife. But for wife they asked to book another appointment. So I booked on 8th Septmber,

Yes I have given current company appointment letter and all my previous experience letter and ZAV letter(Pre-Approval) Letter from Federal Employment Agency.

Suddenly one appointment at embassy was avaialble yesterday, my wife's interview as well completed yesterday but they said it will take 12 weeks for her.

How many days they said to wait for visa approval for you?

They did not give any timelines.

Did they ask for your experience letters or did you include it along with other documents?

They have taken my passport. In you case also it should be the same so dont't worry. They mentioned me that they will take the passport.

For me they mentioined it will take 2-3 weeks to get an update.

Did you submitt your ZAV letter ?

They didn't ask my certificates but in the checklist it is mentioned.So I kept everythings.
