I have EU Blue card issued 8 months ago. Now I have a new job offer with my designation as specialist. I was under impression that I have to just go Auslanderbehorde and get my blue card updated for new employer.....here comes twist....my employer says I can get permanent settlement under highly qualified category. According to Resident Act, section 19. They claim they have witnessed that before, however they can not actively help me in this.

My question is simple. Is it possible for me to switch from blue card to NE under this special category? Has anyone in this forum experienced this before? Is it worth giving a try? bAMF does not provide me enough details. Any comments is much appreciated.....looking forward for some thoughts.....Thanks All.

Its not possible to switch from Blue Card to NE before 21 or 33 Months.

NE for Students who studied in Germany and 24 months of Rentenversicherung or NE for hochqualifiziert after 5 years or NE for Blue Card after 21 or 33 months. NE is Niederlassungserlaubnis (PR).

I have read some where about special category.
I think if you have more than 80K€/year. you can directly apply for NE.
You may have asked your HR, to which rule they are reffering to.....They can haev better idea.......
