Dear All,

My Indian passport will expire in March 2015 and I have unlimited work permit on it. Before I apply for the reissue of passport, I want to make a visit to India.

My question is if I can enter back in Germany in Feb. 2015 with just one month of passport validity? I have heard that one needs to have at least three months valid passport to enter in EU.

Your understanding is right. You may or may not be allowed to enter. However it would be good if you apply for new passport and then visit India. The whole process of getting passport and updating your work permit paper with new passport details should not exceed 4 weeks if you plan things well.

 You can go to Indian Conulate in Germany. They will do the needful.
