:-) you can even get a 400 euros per annum salary if you want. You won't have any restriction with a NE.

the only problem i can think of - you do not have enough money to hire a lawyer if immigration office does something wrong in your case

If you're in IT, I'm really curious to know which job yo are doing to get 20K per year.
But anyway, the salary you get is not a requirement to get NE, the only thing is to have your life assured by a job and if you can live with 20K per year, then your life is assured and thus you are and remain eligible for NE.

The salary requirement was a GC thing and is now a §19-NE requirement but not a requirement for a §9-NE.

Hi Resaleh,

you are right. It is not written explicitly. You must know German and you must calculate this income, because this is a money adjusted by German state according to economic conjuncture.

The salary requirement is stated implicitly in the paragraph 2 of Article 19 in Residence Law [1]. The Beitragsbemessungsgrenze phrase here means the max. monthly contribution that can be paid to health insurance [2,3]. The monthly brutto income for that is 3.562,50€ for 2006 [2].

That means, a specialist or a worker with superb work experience, who gets double of the salary, with which he pays the max. monthly contribution possible for health insurance in Germany, can get unlimited residence permit. In other words, the monthly salary must be min. 3.562,5 x 2 = 7.125€. This gives you an annual gross income of 85.500€.

To all: 84.000€ is wrong. For 2005, it was 84.600€; for 2006, it is 85.500€. German state is adjusting this money yearly, according to economic conjuncture. If the trend goes like that, in 2007 it will be 86.500€ [3].

Regards,
Klenze17.
