Can anybody translate the text below and please explain what does it really mean:

"Selbständige Erwerbstätigkeit oder vergleichbare unselbständige Erwerbstätigkeiten nicht gestattet. Beschäftigung als SWIngenieur bei Fa. erlaubt".

I was issued work permit for one year with above message.

Independent gainful employment or comparable dependent gainfully employednesses not permited. Occupation as SWIngenieur at FA.permited.

Thas mean that you can work only as SW Ingenieur at Company Fa..nothing else.

1. You must not work as freelancer
2. You must not work as lease-employee (Arbeinehmerüberlassung)
3. You are only allowed to work as non-freelancer, non-lease employee at company xyz. If you decide to change company, or you are fired, your residence and work permit is automatically invalid simultaneously. In that case you are ought to report to aliens office at once and require new residence permit for job search, or leave Germany.

Actually it is very bad type of visa, mostly because of very short duration. If you have permanent contract 3 years is maximum possible.
