I am going to have a baby in next month. We are an Indian couple working in Germany Dusiburg city and have valid deutsch work permit and Indian passports.
Can anyone suggest me what are the initial papaer work steps to be done once the baby is born in Germany.

1. I believe my new born will have a Indian passport but do not know where to apply for the same.

2. Is there a visa required immediately after the baby is born for the baby.(should we apply at Ausländerbehorde)

3. I understand that we will have to make a residence registration and birth certficate for the baby.

4. Can we apply for Kinder geld immediately or is there a waiting time.

As it is our first baby, I have no clues what to do in Germany, appreciate suggestions.

Here are the replies.

1. You can apply for a Indian passport at Indian embassy nearest to your city.

2. Once you get the passport you can get a visa for the newly born.

3. You have to go to the birth registration office along with the document which you get in Klinikum. You will get the birth certificate and they can help you regarding kindergeld and elterngeld.

4. You have to apply for kindergeld after you get birth certificate, even it becomes late don't worry they will pay from the month the child is born.
