After 1.1.2005 - depends on whether Goverment decides to declare workforce shortage in that particular branch..

If, for example, IT branch is declared as having shortage of qualified workforce, the procedure will be as easy and quick as currently with Greencard visa....

If not, the procedure will be extremely complicated (so called Ausnahme von Anwerbestopp), i.e., sending an ad to newspapers, waiting 3 months for native German worker shows up and gets the job, only then you have the chance to be employed...

hi guys,
The process of getting WP seems quite difficult and ridiculous as well.
fairly speaking I thought it not so difficult, provided some one has job and the company is willing to keep him.
in another scenario, if new ZG does not turn favourable for GCs, then the only option is to get limited WP, say for 2 years and the extend that aftewards. This 3 months waiting & advertisement in newspaper is something i cannot understand, if company is willing to keep a person.
