for the Niederlassungserlaubnis it needs 5 years Aufenthaltserlaubnis. Before 2005, 2 years Aufenthaltsbewilligung for Study, 2 years Aufenthaltserlaubnis for Working,so, after 1.1.2005, the time with Auftenhaltsbewilligung 2 years will be calculated as AE? then I have 4 years Aufenthaltserlaubnis?
I think many people have this question. I searched many laws, but did not find the answer.

First yes then no.

What can you say on the end. According to this law Kalif von Köln will get NE much quicker than some Wissenschaftlichemitarbeiter.
I really hoped they will be litle bit smarter but on the end it is still so:
IT IS EASIER TO GET PR IN DEUTSCHLAND AS A TERORIST THAN AS A SCIENTIST.

BMI letter is not binding for a court or ABH. It is also possible that BMI officer who wrote that letter misinterpreted some parts of the law. What really matters is what is written in the law.

You are god damn right, man. Any Asylumseeker who gets social help, who even do not pay any taxes in this country is better protected than GCs and Scientists working here. I am sorry but I have difficulties to understand this behaviour, I dont have any personal problems with asylumseekers(Most of them are liars anyway.. I know it from my personal experience) but I guess, I deserve to be treated better than an asylumseeker, as a tax payer of this country.

as the letter is from beamter don’t you think that it should be valid by law. But, at last what does it say? (valid or Not)

raghu after this letter came another from the same place (BMI) which stated first was wrong.
So low chances.

It is allways possible that some Beamter does not know it, and that he takes it into account.
It is also possible that some bundesland decide to take it into account.
With old law it was also taken into account in some lands.

Good god, I never knew that there was an another letter which says that this letter is not valid.
Last week I was in ABH and give them this letter, they copied it and said that they don’t have(this letter) the complete info regarding the NE so, they asked me to come back on 15 of Jan.
So, I was hoping that I will get NE cause, I did have Aufenthaltsbewilligung previously and presently I am green cardler since 2000 September
Bad luck, I got to wait until Sep 2005. Anyhow, thank you for the info DVD
