Hi - I remember reading a post about some health insurance company (Guess it is Wuppertal based) in Germany offers Insurance for travelers/visitors that are visiting Germany say for about 3 months. Some one even made recommendations that it is better to get this insurance instead of getting the insurance cover from other countries (say if a person is travelling from India, it is better to get this German insurance instead of Tata AIG or ICICI Lombard etc)

I tried to search for the post but I could not locate it. Can some one let me know the name and contact details of the insurance company that I am referring to OR just a pointer to the original post will do.

Thanks for your efforts. I did find ADAC. I am particularly looking for the one suggested by some people in the forum. The insurance company is located in Wuppertal. I vaguely remember some one compared that with foreign insurance company, they get picky and say they will not cover if there is any existing sickness but the German insurance would not get in to those details. The other comparison was price.

I am looking for that particular post if any one can help.

I dont like to start for another thread since my concern is similar to Balu post.

I also have plan to bring my mother and father here and I have been searching for Travellers health insurance for them. I have read the MAWISTA but maximum age allowed is 64 and my father will be turning 75 and my mom 68 years old :-(. Can anyone help me find health insurance company for my parents? Last year, I brought my grandma here as tourist for 3 months. she was 78 and I took health insurance from our home country and I am not so comfortable for that. So, I would prefer to get insurance here in Germany for my parents. Thanks.

This is a HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG group from Hamburg, if someone knows.

They are good and offer Private Liability for the same period coupled with Health insurance.

I use this when I invite my parents, but I have no experience with claims. since it is German and also the rules are written in the contract, they cannot deviate.

The content is also in English and the policies are issued on the fly via PDF files.
