I have few questions regarding eltern geld.

I came to germany on jan 2003 for my PhD programme. I completed PhD on Jan 2007. I returned back to India, got married in March 2007. Since my visa got expired in India I had to wait for 3 months and after that I applied for spouse visa due to unknown reasons my visa got rejected. Then I applied for work visa, got rejection, again applied for spouse visa and finally I got the visa, reached germany on August 2008. My husband was here for nearly 7 years and he has NE. After I came to Germany I started to work from Nov.3rd 2008. The contract will be over by the end of june 2009. But I have unlimited work permit (not NE) till the end of September,2009.
Now I am expecting a baby in September, 2009 following this I have 2 questions:

1.Will I get mutterschutz geld?
2.Am I eligible to apply for eltern geld? If so how can I apply?
3.Am I eligible to apply for kinder geld?

YES. Ask your insurance company and your company HR.

2.Am I eligible to apply for eltern geld? If so how can I apply?

This can only be done after the baby is born.
If you get 1 year visa after Sept2009 than you will get it.

3.Am I eligible to apply for kinder geld?

YES only after the baby is born

If you VISA is extended after Sept 2009 than you can get.

Hi,
For mutterschutz i think it is difficult to get since you will end with job. Usually it starts 3 month before the delivery date.Would be nice if you ask you insurance.

For elterngeld you have to fill the form online for examaple search in google (elterngeld+ NRW).
