I have seen an interesting link from an Ausländerbehörde which is saying:

Are those AB guys in Koblenz AB interpreting smt wrong or can we really get a Niederlassungserlaubnis after 1.1.2005 ?

I know that it is not actually possible BUT this link is a bit confusing. That is why I wanted to share it..

It's really confusing.
In my case I am here in Germany for more than 64 months in that I was a student for 14 months and since then I am GC.my GC runs out in Aug'05.The strange thing is in my Arbeitserlaubnis the End date says 'unbefristet'.So only visum will expire in Aug'05.As a GC I have paid Rente for 50 months and as a student I contributed for about 9 months.
I am really confused what should I do now.

This site has been in the posted somewhere
in 2002.You can see it at the bottom of the
page.In 2002 it was not even imaginable that
the Green Card might get extended.
I have also seen it a couple of months before
when someone has mentioned about it in this
forum.So i don't think it's a reliable source.
