I am from Peru and married with a German since 2 years ago, I want to travel to the US to visit my family there and my mother also just traveled there but... I was already denied in the American embassy 3 times!!! so my husband told me I should get the german nationality in order to travel with the german passport. What do I need to get it?? I made an integration course and also passed the Zertifikat Deutsch. Would I have to leave my peruvian passport?? :-( I just wanna visit my family in the US. Thank you for your information.

Hi Mary,

how long have you been living in germany?, if you have lived here for three years and your husband earns enough to support you, you may become a german citizen.

You would have to give up your peruvian citizenship, but many south american countries will give you an unlimited residence permit after you give up your citizenship, check with your embassy.
