I would like to bring my mother to stay with me for six months. Is this possible ?
Will the german embassy issue any such VISAs for six months stay ? If so, could some one pleeeease let me know the details. Her visit is very important for me. As far as i know, the normal staying permit is three months.(for a usual schengen VISA issued by the german consulates/embassies).

First you invite her for 3 months and at the end try for prolongation citing some relevant reasons (health,..).It should be easy.

of course the answer is NO, but nobody wants to write it here! :-)

The German consulate wont issue a visa if your Mom says she has intention of prolonging her stay

But I have heard its possible after coming to Germany. It may go like this: (Angaben ohne gewähr!!)

You can apply for a 3 months visa abroad, come here, register her in Rathaus, and towards the end of 3 months, you can ask for an extension, quoting health reason or so.
