For eg. If you r going to Australia I can carry 10,000 Aus dollars in cash with me but Germany I don't know. Please advise.

Please go to http://www.trust7.com/en/foren/integration/sparbuch_account_is_counted_as_cash_by_custom_help/(offset)/0 I think you can carry so much as you want but have to declare when you carry more than 10.000 euro. It does not matter if IR or EUR.
