Sorry,I meant family visa-familienzusammenführung.
My husband is working in Germany for last 4 years.
My doubt is,should i apply for student visa from India(my home country) or from Germany. Now i am in Germany.I have a 'aufenthaltserlaubnis' till february 2005.I can extend the 'aufenthaltserlaubnis' after that since my husband has a residence permit till October.

everything you can do in india could be also ere done over your embassy I think.

question is why would you take student visa.
your is much better.
if you are 4 years here you could get ArbBerechtigung.
with ABW it is not posible.

if you are one year here than you can work with your visa.
if you have work forbiden in your pass ask AB to delete it. you have right to it after one year.
with student visa you can work only a litle.

is your husband GCler

Thanks very much,I am very happy about the timely help.My husband is not a green card holder,he came here before the green card wave.Shall i ask what is 'AB'.As u said it is written in my visa that i cannot work 'erwerbstätigkeit'nicht gestattet.so even if i am studying in university,i do not need a student visa.Is n´t so?
Thanks

Dear DVD,

Thank you for the replies. Now i am little confused. The university office says ,it is better to go back and change visa status to student visa.
But i feel the way you said is better. So what is the procedure inorder to remove the Arbeitsverbot.
Where should i apply?-in auslanders amt or in arbeitsamt? What is the new "Ausländergesetz".Is it benefictial for me.?
Please kindly reply,

Arbeitsberechtigung for a GC holder´s spouse after 4 years possible????

Hi DvD,

You seem to be pretty well informed, so I´ll shoot with the following question:

Are you completely sure that a GC holder´s spouse is entitled to German Arbeitsberechtigung (ABG)after 4 years of living in Germany?
That would be very valuable information, as my wife (Mexican lawyer) has tried hard to get a job in Germany, but we´ve constantly gotten a rejectal, as she does not have ABG as a GC holder´s spouse.
She is registered in Germany since February 2001, so according to your info, it might be possible to get an ABG for her by February this year. Is this right?

I really look forward to getting your reply.

Cheers,
