i applied for family re-union visa from german consulate in delhi and my spouse is a german national and it's been more than three month now but still the ABH in germany is waiting for the marriage verfication report for german consulate in delhi, as being informed to my spouse in germany. although the investigation officer has already visited me here just the next week after my visa application but not sure what would be the next step and how long it gonna take for the consultate here to send the report to germany. wht's there criteria for the report, will it take longer time and so on......it's so much of pain we both are going through being away for long now.....

could anybody share their experience, in the similar scenario, provide any input here.

I can understand your situation, as i was and still doing through such situation. But yes, atleast i am out of the verification as it is already completed.

So, As you mentioned that your better half is a German national, so can i ask where you got married and from where you managed to get marriage ceritificate. As according to my understanding, this should be under special marriage act..? (to get marriage ceritificate)

My fiancee and myself, was also trying to get married in india and to get marriage certificate, but again, this procedure was really tough and time taking, because for that he should have some NOC and marriage applicabilty cerificate from Gemany (where it must be mentioned, that German authority have no problem if he wants to marry in India and they will also mention the status of my fiancee in that certificate, whether he is single or divorcee or anything else).

So we founf it better to apply for " Intended marriage Visa", under which i will get permission to go to Germany and there we will get married at marriage registrar officer and after that i will also get residence permit.

So, i think in your case, the marriage certificate which you have deposited at embassy, they will take lot of efforts to check the genuineness of it.

Thanks for your prompt reply. seems you are already up on this roller coaster journey of getting married to a german national and handling the later issues of paper work. well, my case is similar to yours but the only difference is of marriage location. i got married in India and got our marriage registered in delhi itself. my wife got the requisite documents which were required to get the marriage registered in delhi and according after all the verfication of the documents the marriage registrar approved our marriage and issued the marriage certificate. well it was as per the hindu marriage act. so we had to provide the temple certificate as well to the marraige registrar, which we already had as we did the marriage in temple only.

well i m bit into the next stage comparing to yours but seems the process has little similarities to some extent where in the verifcation process here in India seems to be similar. may be you got married here or getting married in Germany. well good luck to you. i was wondering if you are appearing for the 2nd round of interview this time, is that for your case only or is it for all those whose spouse is a german national..................

I think in any kind of visa application, there is only one interview round. So as in mine too.

I am waiting for some documents (coming from my fiance's side), once i will get that i will take a interview appointment. And recently i got this information also, that my case will not take 3 months after giving interview, as my documents were already verified by the embasy.

I haven't heard anything from the embassy so far. How long did it take for the embassy to inform you that a verification process has been started and regarding the amount that you had to pay ?

Finally i got visa stamp on my passport on 20th March 2013. Here is the entire journey:-

-applied on 12th November,
-After 3 months of  documentation check and marriage verfication information was sent to alien's office in germany.
-took almost 12 days for the information to get back from the alien's office in Germany to get back to embassy in New delhi.
-took 10 days for the final approval letter to be approved in german embassy in new delhi.
-took 4 days to get my passport stamped for visa.

The
entire process took about 4 months and one week. Guys, you really need
to be patient if you are applying for family re-union visa. some of you
might be lucky to get it sooner but atleast i was not getting it
quickly. at the end of the day i would say one who can keep enough
patience can only sail in this roller coaster. one small advice, don't
bother embassy again and again over phone for asking about the time
taking for the visa. always use email as mode of communication, if you
don't get any reply that it is understandable that things are in a
process so better to keep patience. Before getting the approval doesn't
make sense to ask them to rush up.

my doubt is whether German embassy gives the final approval to german consulate in India or consulate gives the approval. In my case its more than four months from date of application, when i called up the consulate in chennai, they say they are waitng for the approval from Germany. Please someone help. Waiting is really killing...

Even i also got the same question in my mind.

When ABH told me to bring original certificates, they verified and said, the documents are ok. But the approval vl be given by the consulate in India.

I wonder by their answer.

For Long term visa final approval authority is always the concerned ABH of the city but there is a long process before that. approval and verification of all documents ( NOT ISSUED BY GERMAN AUTHORITIES) is responsibility of concerned embassy. That is also one of the factor causing delay in process.

The ABH beamter said, the chennai consulate wrote letter in a good manner about the application. But the beamter wants to confirm whether this marriage certificate is acceptable or not, from chennai consulate although i shown ABH (as requested) them all the certificates in original as it was requested by them.


What will happen in this situation?

Now if it goes for verification, i have to send my original certificate again to india?

As per German Consulate for Hindu Marriage Act following are needed for spouse visa:
1) Marriage certificate
2) Temple Certificate 
3) Conversion certifica - if applicable
4) Photographs

1) ok- My marriage was done in Chennai and we have marriage certificate - both english and german translated version. - No issue
2) Is there a need for temple certificate also ????? - Can some one help on this 
3) Not applicable
4) Photo's  -Yes we do have all the photo's - no issue

I need your reply soon. Its been a week since the central foreign office has sent my report back to consulate, Chennai. Still I have got any call. I called last wednesday to check and they told it has not come yet. So can I make a call tomorrow again and check?. How long does it takes for the consulate to intimate us after the documents are sent from Germany. Its close to four months from the date I have given the documents for verification. Everydy waiting for the call from consulate has become a part of my life. I badly need to end it. Please help me.

By seeing your situation, i feel really sad.

From germany if they intimate their approval, it vl not take more than 2 days. But it is also concerned with the chennai consulate to give approval or not?

What is lagging in your case, i m not sure? 4months is really too long...

In my case ABH said last thursday, just they sent letter to Chennai consulate. They dont want to tell anymore about their decision.
So I was worried, what would be the letter states. But today luckily the consulate called my wife and said the approval came and ask to submit her passport and itenary.

Marriage verification was the reason,  its taking so long. So I ll call up the consulate tomorrow and ll update you.I am happy that  your wife got her approval .

Temple certificate is not needed. Only ur marriage certificate will do.

It is better to get house owner confirmation, stating that your wife can stay with you as long as you are there in their apartment.

No. It is self prepared by your house owner. In my case my house owner prepared herself in both languages, german as well as english.

Having been thru this thread, seems like i am not the only one alone. My wife is pursuing her Phd in Germany and has been there since Jan,13. I applied for the German National Visa on 18th Feb,13 at Bangalore office. Due to my spouse's profession, I didnt need to provide a German Language A1 certificate. 

During my appointment, I wasnt asked for any of my education certificates. They kept my passport and marriage certificate. On 22 April, I was asked for my educational certificates, submitted the same. They have kept the originals. 

Its been more than 3 months since my application and about a month since I submitted my educational certis. Its proving to be a very long and hard wait. Have called up embassy in Bangalore 3 times since i made the application, but the reply has been "application is under process". 

Any thughts on my case? I am really looking forward to hearing from the embassy for a status update.....

Ask or your wife to call  or write an e-mail to the local ABH On receiving the reply you can forward the same to embassy in bnglr and follow up.This may expedite the process.

Thanks for your suggestion. I forgot to mention that my wife has already called up from her end in Germany. The embassy there is waiting the revert from Bangalore office.

I went to the ABH here for my wife's visa and they said that they cannot ask the embassy to expedite the process. the turnaround time is 3 months and only after that they can ask the embassy.

Secondly in different cities the consulates and embassy follow different rules for verfication and level of scrutiny as well as the process. For e.g in spouse visa the Delhi embassy also verifies the birth certificate by even going to the schools and colleges to see if same is registered.

Even within the same consulate the turnaround time is different. And of course the ignorance and arrogance of the embassy makes difference. To add the verfication agents are lawyers in India who get too much power and delay the process to minise their costs and maximise profits (waiting for other applicants to verify in groups).

So honestly i think a lot depends on luck as well. Even if all the documents are same, the experience can be varied.

They dont trust Indian documents at all. In fact Germany is the only country in the world that does not accept apostille from India.

Only option is to have patience.

While reading your post, I realised, I went through the same thing a few days back. I had applied for Family Reunion Visa in Mumbai Consulate on 14th Feb 2013. After 3 days of application, they asked for a DD of Rs45000/- for Verification of my marriage certificate. Along with it, I was also asked to submit my Birth certificate and School Leaving Certificate. 

I was making a follow up with the Office in Mumbai and simultaneously my husband was also making a follow up in Germany. But the ABH in Germany told my husband that they could not prompt the office in Mumbai until 3 months to the application were over. In mumbai, I was always asked to call up after 1 week or 3 weeks or similar. 

In the 2nd week of april, I called up the Mumbai office and they said my visa was in the final stages of approval and asked me to call them after 2 days. When I called them after 2 days, they said it is still in process and I should call after 3 weeks. This was ridiculous. 

My husband was coming to India in the first week of May so he went to ABH inGermany to check the status. They said they were waiting for the Mumbai office to revert. Till 20th April, the verification of marriage wasn't carried out. Finally on 23rd april, an inspection officer came to my place in Ahmedabad (6.30 am in the morning, he came to my home)- WORTH NOTICING

After this,my husband went to ABH again and they asked him to submit 2 documents and said this was just because he was coming to India and if in the time when he was in India, if things worked out then they would need these documents, however they were still waiting for an answer from Mumbai office. 

On 1st May my husband came to India, we kept making a follow up with both the offices, Mumbai and Germany. My husband was going to leave on 19th May, so we called the German officer in Germany on 13th May, and she gave us an email id and asked us to tell the Mumbai office to send them the report on that ID.

As said, The Mumbai office people themselves did not have clarity in their communication. In one day, two different people in the same office would give us different answers.Finally my husband became a little curt and firm to the officer in Mumbai office.

After 2 days when we called the office, they said we don't know yet. Immediately after the call, after 15 minutes, I got a call from the office saying Visa is approved.

I still don't realise what exactly happened!

But we are for sure going to get the non transperancy in the process addressed.

 I was also asked to submit the education certis on 22nd April and told that the i cn hand them over at the reception. But, he kept only my mba certi and gave the graduation certi back. The same day i got a call stating that i need to submit my grad certi alongwith Rs 4000 for the additional verification that needs to be done. Went thr on 26th April n submitted both the certi n the additional fees. 

Post reading your exp, i will agree that the communication within the Visa office is lacking. The inital call i got only asked for the certis, the subsequent one was from a German lady in the office asking for the certi n fees. 

The weird thing is that my wife has got a Hosting agreement from her insti in Germany, which shuld ideally speed the process up a bit. But, it seems to have no consequnece here.

I guess that i need to talk to them in the same manner in which your husband communicated. Just hopin tht it works in my case too.....

Wanted to share some experiences and the mess i am in

Today after 6 weeks of visa application I got someone to call the ABH on my behalf. The lady was very nice and helpful. The embassy has sent a negative report regarding my wifes documents

a. Birth Certificate: The verfication agency said that the birth certificate is wrong and could not be verified. God knows why they said that. I have sent an email to the embassy regarding the same. My wifes birth certificate , passport and Class X marksheets and all other certificates have the same date.

b. Marriage Certificate: The verification officer believes that during the marriage date my wife and I were in a different city. God knows how did he come to that conclusion. Unless i have some memory issue, i have travelled to Delhi from Mumbai, we had the wedding and got our marriage registered. We have also got our certificate apostilled. I have sent an email to embassy attaching my tickets to Delhi which can be verfiied.

It is a real harrowing expereince and I am wating for reply from Embassy. It is impossible to get to talk to someone on the phone for sure.

Would appreicate comments and suggestions.

Yes I guess there has to be some transperancy and coordination in the communications received from the office. Which consulate have you applied to in India?

Be firm when you speak to the officials in the consulate. I have marked often that when we talk to the offiicials, we are nervous and scared, and there probably is no reason for us to be so, because we have not done anything wrong that we need to be scared. On the other hand, whenever I have heard my husband speaking to the officials in germany, he is pretty firm.

I think you must wait for an official communication from the Indian embassy. And as i read, someone else called ABH on your behalf. I would suggest you to call yourself the ABH. You never know about any miscommunication

Such cases are very rare. Make a curt follow up with ABH as well as the office in India

I mean my boss called up the concerned officer from ABH in my presence. He called as i do not speak German.

Sometimes waiting for the embassy can lead to weeks of delay and hence I sent a polite email.

I am waiting for a response from them anyway. Thats all I can do.

You have hit the nail on the head. I have been recalling this, esp after seeing the experience people have had at this forum, that I have been too polite and probably timid when talking to the officals at the Bangalore office. Maybe this fear from the thought of them screwing my case, since in any case they will know my case ref id. 

I am totally tied up in work early next week, but plan to call the consul on Wed/Thur to inquire about the status of my applciation. By the end of May, it would have been about 3.5 months since my application. 

@Bikash - Sorry to hear the update on your wife's case buddy. Hang in there and m sure that things will get sorted out. 

Just FYI, my wife is in Germany and doesnt speaks German yet. But, she did call the office in Germany to inquire about the status update on my case. Going by that, your lack of speaking German should not be an issue.  Best of luck Bikash!!

In fact an update..

The lady at the ABH called me today and told that she has mixed up some files and there has been no update from India.

I however called the embassy before aBH called me and i told them. The person who is handling my case is on leave. However, a German lady picked up and she asked me not to worry and if there is any issue I will be given a chance to present my case if the findings are not in agreement.

Btw if embassy sends a negative report there is nothing ABH can do. Final visa grant is done by the Embassy/consulate.

I have one question regarding the verification procedure
Does the verfication officer calls to the person of whom verification has to be done before going to the visit?
because in my case my parents and wife will not be at home address for 1 month because of some marriages and some functions in our relatives. My wife and me waiting for there call to do the verification process as it has elapsed 2 weeks after paying the fees for the verification.

Yes the verification officer calls. But at a very short notice. Say half an hour before he/she comes. 

In my case they came to my place, at 6.30 am in the morning. Called my father's mobile no at 6 am. 

My mother in law lives in Baroda. The verification officer asked if he could meet her, but she had gone on a tour to Sri Lanka. We alternatively requested him to meet my sister in law, who lives in the same city, Ahmedabad, as my parents.

He agreed


And Yes! the verification officer came to my place 2 MONTHS after I paid the verification fees! So it all depends on your luck!

 I am completely flummoxed by the process that the consul follows. Since having submitted my application for a national visa on 18th Feb,13 and the education certis with additional verification fee on 26th April, till date I havent got any call for verification from the consul. Neither have my parents. 

 When you say 2 months after you paid the verification fees, was it from your inital application date or some subsequent date? 

I am planning to visit the bangalore consul personally today and hope that i get some more clarity and answers about my application.

I would put it as my subsequent date. I submitted my application on 14th Feb 2013. I got an email from the embassy saying i must pay verification fees of 45000 Rs. on 19th Feb 2013. I was also asked to submit my birthcertificate and school leaving certificate. My demand draft and documents reached the consulate on 22nd February 2013. The verification officer came to my house on 23rd April 2013. 

However the verification officer clearly mentioned to us that he had got the papers only on 18th April 2013. I saw a stamp on his set of documents as "received on 18th April"

Its all so frustrating. If they don't want people to come then why advertise so much. I m still waiting for the verification officer to visit my wife. We submitted the application on April 12. I m traveling to india oniune 20 and coming back on July 06. I hope I can bring h er Wyeth me. Al this is making me think if I made the right decision coming here

If you have submitted application on April 12, then you must patiently wait till July 12. The ABH sees 3 months time then only it agrees to pressurise the Indian office, till then they ask to wait.

 It was a futile trip down to the German embassy yesterday, considering that I took off couple of hrs from office to go there. The receptionist asked me to join the queue, which was waitin for thr collection. Once my turn came, I inquired about my application status. 

 The lady didnt seem too happy tht her simple n straight forward job got interrupted by my query. She was irritated from that moment on and after checking on the system, informed me that the application is still in process. That we are awaiting the revert from the German office. After hearing her out, i told her that my wife is in Germany and when shez checked with the Alien's office there, she is getting the same reply - tht thy are awaiting the verification details from the Indian office. 


 She wasnt in the mood to understand my statement and repeated the same thing in an even rude tone.... "y dont u check with the German office?". I patiently replied that my wife is doing that regularly and we hv no idea of where the applications is, if its moving or is it stuck. This same to n fro statements were repeated 3 times by her. 

Then whn she realised that i am not leaving and the line for collection is getting longer, she made the efforts to look into the system and asked did u submit the  verification fees? What kind of question is that!!!! How cn i submit the certis and not the fee? Thatz when she realised that I submitted my educational certis on 26th April. She used that date to push her argument that i need to wait as its just been a month since i applied. I replied that my initial application was made on 18th Feb,13. She wasnt willing to listen n told that since u submitted the certis on 26th April, i need to wait more. 

I then requested her if i could talk to a senior officer or something. She didnt agree to any of that and when i persisted, she gave me an email id that i could write to. I will be writing to them shortly and after this post. 

Overall, it seems that i need to wait another 10-12 weeks from 26th April going by the attitude of the officer yesterday. What is ridiculous is that i still dont know if the verification of my documents submmitted on 18th Feb is completed or not!!!!!

@ Mirali - you were really lucky that they called you on 19th Feb for additional doc n fees, post your applciation. I got the same call on 22nd April, though my application was made on 18th Feb.

Going by all this, I think its gonna take an act of God for my case to go thru!!!!

Amazing information regarding working of differen section in Visa stamping. How you came to know about this.

Whenever I check on status with Bangalore consulate or ABH - only reply is "In Progess" and there is no information like which stage it is. Hope they have some system like US visa - which clearly mentions which level you are and that too you can check online.

@Arun- Has the verification officer visited you? I think as soon as the verification officer visits, things will proceed faster. This is the best optimism I can think of, otherwise, you are right, there is no other way than patiently waiting and yet simultaneously making a rigorous follow up. 

@mani- Well, the officer who was handling my query in consulate general office in mumbai (the one who was concerned with my verification procedure) explained me this. Also the officer in ABH in Germany explained similar procedure to my husband. They generally do not disclose the information, but since we persistantly requested them to let us know the status, they told us that we must wait patiently as there are lot many people involved in the whole process. Fortunately we were lucky as regards this, because all the officers concerned were pretty polite to us.

Going through your events reminded me of my ordeal

I really wish some officer who is perhaps responsible for PR w.r.t German embassy should read our posts so that  they can atleast be aware of our plight. I understand every embassy has lot's of constraints e.g. fake ids, fake marriages..bla bla..but why can't the representatives communicate with the applicants in a better way?

Personally, I don't have any experience with bnglr,chennai or delhi embassy. However it seems, the story is same everywhere but yes one embassy which I feel ,really responds to applicant's query or even arrange things to get them resolved is Mumbai embassy. I have experienced a good process from their side right from the start of the application process.

Unfortunately, the case was totally opposite when my wife applied from kolkatta embassy. Point no.1 they don't update their website on time so how can we know what has changed and what has not? and I can only imagine the ordeal one goes through while applying and especially the lady representatives. I won't term them as visa officers , I have interacted with visa officers in Mumbai and they are like quite helping in nature whereas in kolkatta the submission process is a real hassle and to top that the representative's reactions.. it's like.. why can't you arrange the documents in order, why can't you do this and that? what's this? and the tone in which they speak is really like ...why are you bothering us?...One thing which I want to understand,is it not their job to help applicants?

And the real ordeal begins once you have submitted the application. Try and keep calling the kol embassy, it will remind you of Baye's theorem. None answers the call and even if it gets answered... it's like 'write a mail ..we will respond' and that too in a weird tone and high pitch. When I got the confirmation from ABH I experienced the same as I called them from Germany. But then I was like it's now or never ...and so..I responded and raised my counterarguements and you won't believe ..next day my wife was at consualte submitting passport.??..Amazing !!

Whereas ABH in my case was extremely helpful. They always responded to my e-mails and the lady picking up the calls always answered the queries after going through the details and ofcourse with a soothing tone reassuring my status.

Last but not the least I believe, it's the mindset of the represenatives whom you are interacting with during the process. Because some people assisted the visa processes well within their jurisdiction in both the embassies whereas some were really like weird.

 I wrote to the bangalore consulate on the email provided (30th May,13) and yet to hear from them. Yesterday, my wife had contacted the German office and the officer was kind enough to share her email id and told me to send my scanned educational certis so that she can follow it up from her end with the Bangalore consulte. Have sent her the same and waiting to hear any update from her.

 Still following n waiting, will keep the thread updated on any new developments.

My wife has applied visa on 2 nd may in delhi..Verification happened on 20 June 2013. How much more time it will take for further processing. I checked with ABD on 9 july , They told that they have not recieved the documents yet.

Nowadays it is taking minimum 6 weeks. So if your document verification completed in 20th of June, u may expect it on 1st week of August. Since the processing does not come directly to your ABH, it come via Central Immigration dept, located in Berlin or Bonn 

So vl hope for the best and u vl hear soon a good news.

depends, if ABH find all documents are ok, then they vl send their opinion to ur embassy inindia. so hardly it can minm 2nd week of Aug

                         before i ask my question, i want to write about my case background.
my wife is a german national. we get married this year. she is my cousin too. i have passed the german language test A1 from goethe institute in may this year and on (1)july 2nd i submitt my documents in german embassy for spouse visa.(2) On 8th July ABH got the email from islamabad embassy.
(3) on 25th july the ABH informed my wife that they send there approval to pakistan. 
(4) 29 July verification Officer visited my place and check all the documents.


now it 22 days past the verification officer visit me.
7 weeks for submitting the application.
26 days since the ABH send their approval.

Question: How much more time it need. when ABH already send there approval? and what is the next process now? is there any other office involved in this too?

Hi Rambo3, congratulation for getting your spouse visa!
I want to ask you a couple of things that you might be able to answer. I applied for family reunion visa to Germany three weeks ago.
Now waiting and wondering how long it will take and what kinds of things will exactly happen or might require from me or my wife who is with me now in India on visit.
Can you please tell me wether your spouse in Germany has ever been contacted during the process by anyone, the Embassy or the ABH office in Germany. If the answer is yes, then what did they exactly require from your spouse in Germany?
Second, did you get the work permit there already, if yes, how long does it take to get the work permit after getting into Germany.

sorry for the late reply. the verification officer did not call me. he come suddenly without any notice.

you write that you submitted your file at islamabad embassy in june. did the embassy asked you for verification fees or consider your file for verification or not? in my case the verification officer visit me the same month.

Hello,yes the embassy has taken verification fee on the day I have submitted my application . Verification officer rang me two weeks ago on the day he wanted to come but unfortunately I wasn't in city. So it's delayed by Eid now IN SHA ALLAH he will come after Eid may be this time he won't give any notice before! Can you please tell me how he do verification I mean does he take interview or what???? Many thanks

My wife submit documnts for verification in july 12 at germay then after long time in november one person came from islamabad embassy for verification after 1 month my wife received call in germany and got marriage certificate but still i did not apply for visa now i want to apply visa even my verification completed and i have german marriage certificate now wht will be process any idea?

hallo,

the verification ask the same questions what the officer asked you at the embasssy when you was submitting your documents. it all about you and your spouse relationship. nothing complicated. so do not worry about it.

I have gone through few threads but my case looks a lil bit different.

It has been 10 weeks since I applied for spouse visa. No communication from the embassy or ABH...

But a week ago my husband called ABH and they told him they are waiting for marriage verification from India. But NOTHING regd marriage verification has been initiated frm the embassy yet. I didnt get any mail or call asking for verification fees. I called chennai consulate, but in vain... What do I do?

Has anyone got similar experience?? pls Share

It all depends on the location/city where your spouse stays... Its easy to find if they search in their local directory

I have applied for a spouse-visa on 03. April, 2014. Than after one and half month on a request I have submitted a DD for marraige varification process 35000/- on 01. June, 2014.

Till now no verification officer came to home or no other reply from the consulate side. I sent mails but no reply. It is really frustrating without any kind of transperency in the visa process. Its been long time. 

Frustrating part is why dont they inform before coming. I mean a week before not an hour before. 
I feel very wiered about it. In this 21st century, they work like in eightys. And its their responsibility to inform, so that we can do any plan. I feel insult sometime.

I think, we should protest to change the process and add transperancy. It is an insult as we are the central part of all these application. And you are running everything like a blackbox. This is unacceptable. 

You are sitting in my country and not behaving responsible. Its just not acceptable. 

Guys, I am still waiting for marriage varification and god knows when they will come. Thanks in advanced for your reply.

Forget about 80s, even 10-15 years back one could get spouse visa within 1 day. Those were the "ache din". There was no marriage verification. They took it at  face value, untill some desi babas did sham marriages - illegal immigration.

Recently, UK NRI obtained his own death certificate in India to claim insurance benefit in UK. The certificate was issued by state government. This kind of death certificate cannot be obtained in UK. You can imaagine the verification officers will have to go to extra lengths to verify whether the marriage is genuine or whether both the spouses have disssolved their earlier marriages, which is difficult to prove from govt. records. Verification officers will  discreetly verify all the details. They may not inform you at all. Depending on the postcode where you live they may take extra time. 

We feel insulted that in our country there is so much fraud in our system. The government has failed to provide a proper system to keep civil records. We should start protest against our own government  first.

3 months is the timeline. You have to be very patient with spouse visa. Once you come to Germany, you will not experience such delays.

  I think you are right, it is like ' Green grass has to burn togather with Dry Grass'. I mean honest people   as 'Green Grass' and people doing fraude are 'Dry Grass'. They dont trust our state government      
  certificates. Thats completely understandable and at the same time shame. 
  Yes, It will help in such situation: To trust those guys and have lots of patience. I wish, next five years,   may Narendra Modi Government do something. Because we are the biggest democracy and its time to   change india to get a respectful place in the world.

Finally, After 7 weeks from the verification fees paid, a verification officer came suddenly. He called me from the station to show him an exact way to home. I picked him up and than all formalities done. Now atleast first long step is done. Now waiting how long will it take to the next step?  Is there any standard time span from the day verification is done till Visa stamp? Thanks!  Guys, have patience please. It is slow but it will surely happen sooner or later .

From the date of application of Family Reunion Visa, Normally they will provide the visa in 5 weeks.
But if the marriage and birth certificate verification (for your kid) in initiated, then from the date of your payment for verification, it takes 15 weeks to get the visa in hand. if u call, or write a mail doesnt make any difference.
And normally after the verification at home is done, it takes 6 weeks to get the visa in hand.

My suggestion would be avoid applying for Family reunion visa normally from October till February.because you get marriage certificate verification initiated  during this period. This is my own observation. you can check with others too..

So now your papers will go to germany and the ABH in germany will check your paper and then contact your wife in germany. may be they asked her a few question and then they will send thier opinion back to islamabad embassy and then the embassy will decide to give you visa or not.

it take round about 9 months less or more..

I applied for spouse visa at german embassy pakistan on 6-aug-2014 at 25-sep-2014 an officer visited me at home and verified my all documents then at 15-oct-2014 my wife recieved a letter for Auslanderbehorde to submit her documents then at 25-oct-2014 my wife submited her documents and now the Auslanderbehorde is waiting for my marriage verification report from embassy so what should i do and how long will it take to get my visa in hand?please help meee..

# Forwarded the language certificate (scanned copy) on 25.09.2014
# An email from visa head on 25.09.2014 : Your langauge certificate was sent to the local Aliens Authority in Germany
# I wrote an email to visa head on 29.09.2014: to asked about the current status of my application
# An email from visa head on 02.10.2014 : The Aliens Authority in Germany is in contact with your wife regarding further documents. Their approval is to be awaited. 
# My wife got a letter on 06.10.2014  from ABH (local alien  office) : Asked her to submit further documents 
# She have been submitted everything on 03.11.2014
# She was called to ABH on 11.11.2014 : They were informed; Approval letter has been forwarded to chennai consulate
# I wrote an email to visa head on 12.11.2014 : to asked about visa approval
# An email from visa head on 12.11.2014 : Resident permit issued

Note: In my case-no marriage certificate verification; We were married at Copenhagen Commune, Denmark .

Reading about the all the threads and you all have been so patient.well my situation is like you all. I applied in on the 7th of september and the lawyer came to verify my marriage on the 24th October. And qtwo weeks later I submitted my language certificate as well.
I still have no idea when will I get the visa. Plus also when thw hamburg office received my file they mailed my husband to submit the document to speed up thw process.
No idea where I stand now

I had applied family reunion visa for my spouse and kid on the 1st of October. The chennai consulate tod my spouse that have to verify the Marriage certificate . I got a mail from the chennai consulate stating that i have to pay Rs20000 for the same and some set of documents. I had submitted the documents and the DD on the same week. I got a mail from the aliens office in Cologne on 24th November 2014 asking me to send them some documents to them and i had emailed the documents and they have replied to me that they will send the response to the indian embassy by this week and have asked me to check with the indian embassy by next week. But till now nobody as contacted us regarding the verification process. is there something that i could do to check this out . Please help me out.

I have read throuh all the info on this thread.
My concern is completely different.
Am a Nigerian and my fiancé is German.
We intend to get married in Germany.
I was there some few months ago and the We had our court hearing which was d 2nd week of October and also paid a verification fee of 650euro including submission all required documents.
I returned to Nigeria 24 of October and 28 of October ,the investigator from d consulate came to my parents house
He only called me less than one week later for a missing document which I handed over to him the next week .
One the 23 of December, my fiancé recive a mail including the confirmation letter with a marriage time frame of 6month.
He will pick it up and hopefully all my document and send them back to Nigeria . This confirmation letter and a hand written letter with our chosen wedding date and time from court will I take to the embassy for my visa.
My problem is , I don't know how long it would take for me to get the visa......
I heard to will take 3 month.
The verification only took 2 moths.

Pls any one with helpful Info??

I have been reading through all your replies and I realize I am sailing in a similar boat.I have been working in Switzerland and my husband in Germany. In Nov'15, we had applied for a family re-union visa at the German embassy in Bern. I was asked to submit a language certificate as well which I did in the month of Jan'16. I had however read online that if I possess a Degree certificate, a language cert is not required. Nevertheless I did submit the document to the embassy. We were told that the standard time required to get the Family re-union visa is 8weeks. Its been more than 12weeks now. 
The only reason I am worried is my Swiss permit expires soon and I am also 5months pregnant. Doctor says I should avoid long distance air travel to India. We are really under great stress at the moment.
The Visa officers in Germany said they have given their final decision on my case to the Bern Embassy last week. Its been 1week since that was done and we still have no reply. I am wondering how long it takes for the embassy to communicate the decision given by the german officers. 

Can  anyone provide any pointers here if you have had similar experiences!

I have applied for German spouse visa and finished my interview and documents submission on 10th September 2018, from Bangalore consulate. They took my original passport and marriage certificate. And told me " we will call you after 4 week come and collect the passport" my husband has a blue card. They took two set photocopy of application form, declaration form, all pages of my passport and copy of all pages of my husbands passport, my degree certificate, A1 certificate, my birth certificate, my husbands blue card, house contract(60sq apartment with 2bed room), my husbands work contract, insurance that covers family, and travel insurance, 4photos, Demand draft. Can you please tell me  what is the procedure that we have to undergo after the visa interview. And how long will it take to get visa
