I am researcher in Germany and at the moment I am trying to apply for either NE or German citizenship. As researcher is difficult to understand what categories, I am in as


I got residence permits as
1) Aufenthaltsbewilligung -- 1.5 yrs (before 2005)
2) Aufenthaltserlaubnis §5 Nr. 1 AAV i. V. m. §9 Nr. 8 ArGV -- 2 yrs
3) Aufenthaltserlaubnis §16b 4 yrs
4) Aufenthaltserlaubnis §18b2 - 3 yrs

Based on this can someone let me know

what is
Aufenthaltserlaubnis §5 Nr. 1 AAV i. V. m. §9 Nr. 8 ArGV ?


How is my NE chances?

I know that its  possible to get NE if have stayed for 5 yrs in germany paying pension insurance. If you are in a work visa (18) this is better status than the student visa (16) i believe. But the one of the main deciding factor is the 60 months of pension insurance.
