Ich bin Asiate, seit 3 Jahren mit einem Deustche verheiratet und wohne in Berlin.

Vor 2 Wochen habe ich Niederlassungerlaubnis bekommen und es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Die Beaemtin war sehr freundlich und hilftbereit.

Sie fragte mich ob ich noch andere Frage gehabt habe und ich anwortete nein


Aber heute habe ich hier gelesen dass Mann auch NE-EG bekommen kann.

Es hoert sich besser als normale nationale NE.

Aber steht hier mir einige Fragen.

1. Kann mann schon nach 3 Jahren NE-EG beantragen ?

2. Sofern ich weiss, in NRW kann mann schon NE-EG beantragen, aber gibt es hier jemand aus Berlin und hat schon NE-EG bekommen ?

there is already another law FreizügG/EU, which enables the foreigns married to Germans/EU citizens some priviliges. Maybe you don't need NE-EG at all:

NE-EG can be issued although no corresponding law passed. Some states in Germany do that. Talk to the Alien Office in your place. Also ask the law above.

I will also answer in English because it can interest other people: I'm actually in talk with ABH Berlin to know if one can get it, I already asked the question a couple of weeks ago but they were still checking to know how to implement it here.

Well....Spirulina, there is a thing called german citizenship, fancy having a go at that?

I just talked with the ABH on the phone this morning too. He said he needs to check for the information first as this topic is very new in Berlin.

I do not want to apply for a german citizenship because we have to give up our national citizenship. That is not not fair comparing to spouse of other EU nationals. They enjoy dual citizenship.

Euopean citizens also have to give up their old citizenship to get german.

Well.. if I were an EU citizen from the core EU-15, I wouldnt take the German citizenship anyway.. as it wouldnt bring any advantages..

Apart from that,

My asian friends who married ie, a British, Dennish, Swedish, Belgian, or live in those countries.

They all can get a dual citizenship.

I think in EU-15, only German and Spanish Government do not allow a foreigner to maintain their original citizenship.
