It would be interesting to discuss what should we GCs do after 1.1.05 because of the new laws.

For those finishing 60mths, one can get PR with or without the new law.

For those with less than 60 mths, does one need to go to the Ausländerbehörde to get a new type of visa?

What about the dependents, Is it true that there is no waiting period of 2yrs for the workpermit under the new law? If that is the case, it would be nice to covert the current GC visa to a new one.

I think even Beamter can not answer it jet.
I think GClers can ask for unbeschränkte Arbeitserlaubnis at Arbeitsamt.
What will be done with Aufenthaltserlaubnis is hard to say.
Two options are:
a) GC is valid till the end, then you ask for AE or NE
b) GC is not valid after 1.1.05 and we should get some similar AE

I supose option a is more possible
