Hallo Group,
I got my Masters in Germany during 2002 and have been living in Germany since 5 years
(2 years as Student;
3 years as Employee).

Am i eligible to get NE or something like unbefristet erlaubnis.

No, You need 5 years of working in DE to get NE (§9). Your Student time is not calculated for NE. YOu can apply for a Highly qualified visa(§19) any time irrespective of your student status in DE.

But you can try also to get non-company binded visa ("Beschäftigung uneingeschränkt erlaubt"). according to §9 BeschVerfV, since you are working 3 years.

you can try to get NE cos some ABH take student time into account.
mike it will work. chances are low but who knows.

if you do not get NE, try to get nonbinded visa.

with binded visa you can only work for one company.
if you lose job you lose residance permit also.

with unbinded you can work for any company and change job every day without visiting AA or AB.
if you lose job you do not lose residance permit and you can search for another job without visiting AB.

It was given to me just after 7 months of working. But with only the difference that i started to work before 2005 and changed the WP after 2005 (Section 46.2 explains the reason)
