I just got a new Job in Hamburg and I have some problems understanding why there is such a big difference between the result I get from the forms in the internet and the amount that the company is claiming that will pay me. I am afraid there is something wrong there. My gross salary is 2920 per month... I am klass 1, no church tax.... when I do the calculation in the forms on the internet my netto salary is ca. 1770 Eur, but the tax expert in the company sent me an e-mail saying that it is ca. 1556. That´s more than 200 Eur less. I do not know what to do or what is wrong. Please HELP!!

1556 euro seem to be wrong, you cannot be losing 50% of your salary. Ask for a detailed calculation.

It is more than you should be paying.

Your netto salary should be around 1760.

Tax prepayment, I don't know though when it is used and why. Maybe some other members could help here.

Tax Prepayement sounds kind of Freelancing or Selbstandig. Wait till your first payement and look into your salary receipt.
