I have completed two years 8 months now in DE as a green carder. when i came initially i got a visum for two years and two months before my expiry in Feb2005 i applied for an extension an got the following extended till 2007 feb.

I have an Aufenthaltserlaubnis till feb 2007 according to GEM $18 11 S.1 and the zusatzblatt says
"Beschaeftigung als IT-FachKraft gem $46,2 BeschV gestattet. Sonstige ErwerbstaetigKeit nur mit Genehmigung der auslaenderbehorde gestattet."

What does this mean ?
what are my chances of getting NE ? ( meaning a permanent residence and workpermit)
Do i have EG or BE as per the terminology used in this site :-). which i think is a step towards NE.
Or can i apply for EG or BE ? Do i qualify for the EG or BG. ?

Ok.. let me answer you then by using the site terminology. You have "limited BE" (smt new to our terminology If we compare these titles, it looks like this :

NE > EG > BE > BE limited > Company bound permit.

In your case, you can not do freelance job and you can not work in an area rather than IT.

After finishing your 3 years, you can try your luck for EG or BE by using BeschVerv 9
