Does visa rejection affect further visa applications?

I applied through the Mumbai Consulate for Work visa this year but it got rejected by the consulate. Now I have another offer from a German firm . Will my previous rejection affect the new application?

Have you found out the reason for rejection? If not, please ask the consulate, so that the same mistake you wont do second time.

Yes. The consulate could not verify the employer so they rejected the application. Now I have offer from different employer , so I would start with a fresh application. Will there be any references to the previous application now.

Then it is not your problem. So you can apply again without problems.

Thanks. I have requested to withdraw the appeal for the first application. Do you know how much days consulate takes to cancel your visa application. I would like to start for the new one asap.
