Dear Detlef, Dear Friends.

I just want to inform you all that my whole family got our EB - Urkunde today morning.

Our case was a special case as we moved to another city(State - Bayern to Sachsen )during the procedure. The change was due to my decision to go ahead with another interesting job. I cancelled my unbefristet job and signed a befristet job in Sachsen. The officers in Bayern really supported my application but due to the EB test , my file was delayed but i decided not to wait any more and requested them to transfer my files to Chemnitz. Earlier, i thought it was rather a straight forward procedure in Sachsen.

To my surprise, they redid the complete procedure , checked all the documents, collected 3 salary slips and then they forwarded my file to Landesdirektion in Chemnitz. The LD office did once again all the paper work and forwarded my file to Innen Ministerium Sachsen. After enquiring more than 10 times about my file status and after i came to know that it usually takes 1.5-2 years in Sachsen, I used my relations with my Ministry colleagues in education to push my file. With one telephone call from my colleague, i got all my papers in a weeks time.

My job is a political job and I need my german passport for several reasons including representing research institutes in Germany at the EU commission in Brussels. The Minsitry of Wissenschaft and Kunst in Sachsen really recognizes my work and they pushed my file for immediate actions.

At the end of all, we got our papers..We are neither happy nor sad as these papers just prove your identity . As a spirit soul, we are all the same.

12.06.2008 : Application submitted in Würzburg as § 8(Ermessenseinbürgerung)
28.08.2008: File completed ( letter requesting Einbürgerungs test)
09.10.2008: File change to Chemnitz
18.10.2008: EB test
22.11.2008: more documents requested
02.12.2008: Letter from my director requesting to speed my file.
02.02.2009: File transfered to Landesdirektion
10.02.2009: File transfered to Innenministerium
07.04.2009: Request from Ministry of Science to speed up my case
14.04.2009: Got our Urkunde..
