Insurance of EU Blue Card holder

Hello everyone,
Nice to e-meet you guys! This would be my first post here.

Recently I just start to work in Germany and got Blue Card, I'm 30 years old, single, my annual salary is about 51000 Euro, which is about 4300 per month.
Everything is fine, there just one thing bugs me.
My insurance is really high, especially the health insurance part because my insurance is a public one, it's now up to more than 1000 Euro per month. I really would like to save some money, but the insurance agency my company are using told me that, in my condition, I can not use private one.
My questions are:
- Is it true that I can not use private insurance for health insurance?
- Can I end the contract with the agency immediately and change to another agency? How?
- If I can change the agency and I can use a private one, do you guys have any recommendations for the price?
