Pension refund - about to complete 2 years waiting period

Toggle
Hi all,

I was working in Germany from Oct 2005 to October 2006,

and in my paper, I could see

For October to December 2005, the contribution was
arbeitgeberanteil - rente: 910 euros
arbeitnehmeranteil - rente: 910 euros

For January to October 2006, the contribution was
arbeitgeberanteil - rente: 2849 euros
arbeitnehmeranteil - rente: 2849 euros

I have already given the signed-application to my company in Germany to submit the same on the 10th of October 2008 at bfa. (the date I complete 2 years).

Kindly let me know approx.how much money I would get it from the bfa as refund?

and how long they will take to process my paper?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
rubanj.

Hello Ruban J,

I too have a similar situation, I had worked in DE from Jun-2005 to Jun-2006. I have also completed 2 years waiting time. Can you please inform me the procedure for pension refund ? Please do the needful.

About the company's contribution. Depends on the pension plan, some companies have something called vesting period (e.g 5 years). The company's contribution in this case goes into your account after 5 years. This is deferred compensation, an incentive to stay in the company for long term. If you leave before 5 years you may not get company's contribution.

Check you company's pension plan.

One of my friend also needs some help to claim the money back (his contribution). Is there any company/consultant to help him?

Thanks :-)

Well no consultant/company can help you in this regard. Contact your local german embassy and they will be able to guide you.

As a citizen of India, you can always ask for refund of your pension insurance contributions, if:
-you don't stay in the EU
-you were not insured in the German pension fund for the last 24 months

It doesn't play any role if your wife is German or not.

In order to claim for refund, you have to fill the form V901 (in German/English language!), which is available at www.deutsche-rentenversicherung.de or at my website:
http://www.german-tax-back.com (click on refund of pension insurance contributions).

For the others:

In general, the possibility for a refund depends on many factors, like nationality, where you live and how long you paid for the German pension fund. On my website (see above) I discuss all the possibilities.

Hope that it will help you!
