Hi
I am looking for an official translator to translate some document. These documents I have to present to a Govt office in non-EU country and they want that translation should be attested by foreign office of that country (where document belong, mean Germany in my case).
Can anyone suggest, from where I can get such attestation.

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tali

P.S: Documents are:
1- Temporary Birth Certificate issued from Standesamt
2- Paper issued from Hospital for the birth of my kid

german to english translator -> open yellow pages, there are a lot, both with/without special licenced.
For your native leaguage, you can contact your embassy to ask, normally they have a list of name.

good luck.

Thanks.

And how to get the attestation ? mean any ministry or authority who can attest that translation is vlaid?

I will even try to ask Standesamt that can they issue same document in english, then I wont need any translation. But I highly doubt that they will do this help.

As I have written before, some translator has special licenced from german autorithy to translate document and the translated document can be used in legal business in germany without any doubt. Not all translator allowed to do this.

About Standestamt to release a english version document -> I think you should ask them.

My colleague got married here (both not german citizen) and got from standestamt 2 kind of married certificate -> german version and international version (with english and french in)

last chance, you can always ask your embassy how to deal with this kind of document. They have a guidelines and can tell what to do. They are here not just to have fun but also help their citizen emoticon

so good luck

Hi

I got some names from yellow pages and I contacted one , she told me that she can translate and put some stamp on it. Lets see.

I also went to Standestamt asking them to issue me this temporary birth certificate in english as well. they told me as they are legalizing my marriage certificate so they cannot issue me this letter in english and once the process finish they will issue me normal birth certificate and that will be in English as well.
Funny thing , then they asked me why I need english one of this temporary birth certificate. I told them that embassy needs it. They told me that I cannot give this to embassy. So according to them , Child is not allowed to register on Passport unless they verified my marriage certificate , as a result my child has to stay in Germany unless they verified my marriage certificate.

Same Question again : Which German office (authority) can attest German document ? I only need the attestation of this temporary birth certificate that its original german document. In my home country we have ministry of forigen affairs who does such attestation of govt offical document , like degree from Uni , marriage certificate , etc.

regards

The standestamt has to do their job :-).
I think their procedure is correct.

It seems that you have problem with your embassy :-).

Why don't you ask them (your embassy) what kind of legalization that they need? they should be able to tell you what and where to go.

Although, the embassy in germany should be able to read german :-).

I don't know the answer of your last question, sorry. But it sound expensive to me.
