Living Space for me and my wife in Hannover

Hi All
I will be in Hannover for a year to do a post-doctoral research work at Leibniz University of Hannover. I would like if my wife can join me to Germany.
My Scholarship is about 1210 €, I am woundering about the suitable living space for both of us and about my wife's dependent visa application. Is a studio apartment is a sufficient space for us? About my wife application for a dependent visa, does she need to fill a form for national visa or it is enough to add her into my application?
