Hi, I have been working in a research institute in germany since more than 5 years and have now applied for a NE-EG. I have paid into the rentenversicherung for more than 60 months and will continue to pay it until end of this year. However, from January 2008 I will be transfered from a regular job-contract to a fellowship payment which does not include paying any taxes. Will this effect my chances of getting a NE-EG? I have submitted all other required documents and right now I have been told to wait till my auslandsamt gets a positive reply from the Aberbeitsmigration amt (which might take 6 to 8 weeks).

If anyone here has similar experience or any suggestions on this situation, I will very much appreciate it.
