Hi,
I am in a very confused state. My name on my passport is a problem since my first name and surname are mentioned together leaving surname column empty. By the way I am an Indian married to a German citizen. I have an appointment for submission of my einbürgerung documents in 2 weeks and I want to change my surname to my husbands family name. Thats not the end of my problem. My husband does not have his family surname. So in other words I want to take his fathers surname. Now my question is that:
Is it possible to apply for einbürgerung and continue with the name change process with Indian consulate or should I postpone my appointment till I get my name sorted out.
Please help me with this situation.
