trust7.com needs a little revamping. I feel grey a bit dull, and probably we need something like blue or other lively colours. Though we GCs might have umpteen problems, our spirits are high! Some other things:

1. A counter showing the number of posts from members.
2. Some seniority or so after every 100 or 200 posts
3. Possibility to IM or Email a member
4. A Profile page
5. An informative FAQ section or ATLEAST something like sticky thread.

I personally would prefer something like phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com) which would make things more formatted and will help Detlef in managing the forum easily.

Detlef, are you listening?
(I know you are!)

Hi Fred,

thanks for your message. I did see your post a bit late, at the moment I can not read every message. There are many reasons for this... I am very busy with other trust7 businesses, for example http://www.t7-germany.com/

I am already 57 years old and I have to see different doctors, more and more ;-) and last but not least, for all the updates and changes I need Manuel and he is also very busy with his own company: http://www.iguana-it.com/

I hope that we can make a relaunch of trust7 before xmas and than we will also create a new design. Maybe we should make a kind of competition for all our members. Everyone who is able to, should create a new design/layout and send us a screenshot. I will publish the screenshots on one of our websites and the t7 members can vote which layout they like best.

Than I can ask Manuel to take the 'number one' layout for our new trust7 website.

Sorry that I do not have better answers and again, thanks to all the active members, who keepthe site alive!

Viele Grüße aus Berlin

Detlef,

I do value your time, and we all know that both you and Manuel have your business you need to care about. Thanks for the time you both spend to keep this forum up and running.

I would be happy if members do design, but there are lot of free templates already available out there. One such example was phpBB. Other members can suggest here, and help Delef and the community.

PS: One more reason to have a sticky thread is this "Driving licence issue" which keeps coming up, alongwith all these Indians (like me) asking "How to get Indian channels", "which receiver to buy", "what forms are needed for NE?", etc......

I thought that NoBody is already preparing a FAQ Section for this site since Februar 2006. Below is his post:
http://www.trust7.com/en/forums/faq_and_important_links/faq_or_not_faq_that_s_the_question

I understand from the post that he must have talked with you, Detlef. Any comments?

Also, one year ago I addressed the search deficiency:
http://www.trust7.com/en/forums/faq_and_important_links/trust7_search_deficiency

Therefore no one wants to search the forum, because it is extremely slow, that's why so many people are asking the same questions again and again.

The search option on this forum is extremely slow and returns only 10 results at a time in the reverse order, (oldest first).

I had once suggested using google search instead:

http://www.trust7.com/en/forums/integration/sorry_detlef/searching_tips_using_google

For creating an FAQ, google notebook ( http://www.google.com/notebook/ ) would be a good option, till Mr. Detlef and his team finds some time to have it on t7. The google notebook could be shared and would be available to the whole world.

Hi HB,

thanks a lot for this suggestion. I will check it as soon as I can manage and though I am already a 'Google Fan' as you can see by our new adds on the right, I am sure this will be a very good solution until Manuel has more tim for our own search.

Thanks
Detlef

Hi Friends,

I have made a small attempt to make an FAQ.

http://www.google.com/notebook/public/05866909452645212357/BDR4KSwoQ06H1ltgh

But it is incomplete. Would be great if you could contribute to it, by sending small questions with answers and any links to me (hbhatiya hotmail com) which I could add to the list.

I would be working on it, when ever I could spare some time.

Hi Detlef,

Whatever changes you make to this website, keep it simple. I have seen many website make it unnecessary complex. It would be good to have some features as suggested by fred but also a simple interface would be good.

I like Trust7 quite a lot because its very simple.

Color needs to be changed and other thing which is missing are the links to old threads, for example If I come to this website after 4 days, then i miss many discussions. You already have this functionaly for individual threads. When a thread has many messages then it shows some thing like:
[1][2][3][4][5][6][»] Same could be used on first page for displying another set of 15 previous threads.

Ok, so now I have moved the contents from google notebook to http://trust7faq.wiki.com

So, its now easier for everyone to edit without "bothering" me.

You could also upload files, so, the famous letter to BMI can now find a place.

A suggestion about color,

I think the current background and font color seems to be fine. Once you make everything colorful it would effect your eyes. Remember "Less color Less eye defects"
