Hi all,
I have worked in Germany for around one year and came back in May. I am currently living in india and unemployed since past 5 months, during which i was searching for a job. I have now got an offer from a German company in Germany. 

So would the Consulate reject my Visa on the grounds that i was unemployed since past five months ??

If you meet all the other requirements, this shouldn't be a problem at all. Previous unemployment is not considered when issuing a work visa.

Like arnhem said. If you have all the paper work and meet all the requirements, then your temperory unemployment will not matter during your work permit application assessment. Don't worry about it.
