Greetings !

I hold an EU Blue card which is valid for 4 years and at the same time my dependant spouse has got a resident permit initially for 1 year.

My spouse is MSc from German University having German Language skills A1, A2 from Goethe Institute. Now, spouse has also got a job offer where salary offered is well above the requiedcriteria for Blue Card.

Now my question here, Is my spouse eligible for applying for Blue Card? If Yes, then does she need to return current electronic resident card and apply for fresh Blue Card?

Besides asking for BC, your spouse can work without any extra permits or limitations. If you still want to have it, let your AB know and see if they entertain your request. Mostly YES as the criteria already met.
