Does anyone know if a non-EU resident can apply for an orientierungpraktikum?

Ein Orientierungspraktikum dauert bis zu 3 Monaten und ist als Entscheidungshilfe für den späteren Beruf gedacht. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, etwa 2-3 dieser Praktika in Ihre Studienplanung aufzunehmen. Über diesen Zeitraum kann der Arbeitgeber einen Eindruck bekommen, der es ermöglicht, ein Zeugnis zu erteilen. Aus Arbeitgebersicht werden 3-6 monatige Praktika bevorzugt. Allerdings kann es dabei zu Schwierigkeiten in der Vereinbarkeit mit dem Studienplan kommen kann. Es kann sich durchaus lohnen dafür die Verlängerung des Studiums in Kauf zu nehmen.

Foreign students can obtain a permit for an Orientierungspraktikum, however, if the internship is more than 3 months, the employer needs to pay the student at least the minimum wage (which is why most Orientierungspraktika are now 3 months or less).
