I need an important information regarding the work permit when switching a job. I am working in a company in Nürnberg since 2006 january. Now I want to switch to another company here. I heard I should re apply for a new work permit. Is there a greater risk? As I want to give my resignation by end of january and want to join the new one in April.
The prospective company is favourable for doing anything for workpermit.

Kindly advice,if I need to wait for work permit and then give the resignation?

Yes you have to apply again for work permit and you have to wait around 4 weeks to get permission, same procedure as for your first work permit. But as you said "The prospective company is favourable for doing anything for work permit", then go ahead.
