Hi,

Many in Germany are affected by finanzielle Krisse and many have Kurzarbeit. Does anyone have any idea about the effect of Kurzarbeitergeld on Visa/Arbeitserlaubnis renewal? Can visa be rejected if person has opted for Kurzarbeitergeld?

Normally it should not be a problem as you still hold a job, but earn less.

The question is not earning less or still having job. Kurzarbeitergeld is "Stadtliche Hilfe". The question is how the ausländerbehörde see this. The German government will see this person as burden and may deny Visa.

Is it really ALGI?. If not, dont see why ABH should make a problem.

AFAIK kurzarbeit is requested by the firm, not the employee, and the whole time someone is on Kurzarbeit is counted as full employment with full salary in case employee is fired later and has to apply for ALG I. So technically although being on Kurzarbeit you are still full employed.
