Validity of Residence Permit living in UK

I have joined my husband, who is working in UK. I am still having a 3 year german residence permit, which I do not want to lose. This is because we want to be visiting Germany as time goes on.
We still maintain our flat in germany. Is there any risk, even though UK is in the EU?
