Getting back your contributions to German Pension Scheme

Toggle
Hello Experts,

Question:
How does our current German Pension system works if someone chooses to give up his “German” nationality elsewhere? Does it allow you to recover your contributions to the pension account in any way instead of having to wait until 67?

Running through the huge repository of our “trusted” trust7 , the only thread that I could locate talking about a bit on this topic is
http://www.trust7.com/en/foren/integration/applying_einbuergerung_vs_loosing_kind_of_pension_money/(offset)/0

But the thread itself is now 3-4 yrs old (2008/2009), so I wonder how much of it is still applicable at present. Anybody having any ideas please?

cheers!

Hi,

I think if someone loses german nationality, it means he became a national of other country. Then the pension rules should be according to the new country nationality. I know it is not a simple question.

May be it would be better if someone can explain who has gone through suc process.

I do not have personal experience or I haven't seen such case myself, it is just my view.
