Opening a bank account in Germany

Hi,

I'll be moving to Germany next month. I was wondering if it's possible to open a bank account there without a valid apartment contract. I will be moving to an Airbnb for the first month and I am wondering how to go about opening a bank account in the first month.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

this shouldn't be a problem. You have to register yourself within 7 days after arrival in Germany, even if you live in a hotel first. Or your employer will provide you a temporary address untill you find an apartment.

With the sheet of paper you receive after your registration and your passport and your employment contract, you go to the Bank of your choice and open up an account.

The Bank will be happy to get a new client with a good salary ;-

Good luck
