Hi Guys,

I am Indian national, working in Australia on a work visa (indian passport)

I have got a new job in Germany & am about to apply for visa here in Australia.

Question is - when I go to visa interview at German embassy , do I have to submit my original passport along with application. My understanding is I have to take them to interview but only have to submit photocopies. But someone else confused me & suggested that I may have to submit my passport too ?

Is that right ? After applying my visa,  I am going on a already planned vacation to India - hoping to get the Visa approval email in mean time (if possible).

If I have to submit my original passport, obviously I wont be able to travel back...

Second question : 

Suppose I get the visa approval email ,when I am back in India -can I go to German consulate in India to get my passport stamped ?
Also, is passport stamping mandatory, given nowadays everything is electronic ?

You do not need to submit the original.

You can Also get the approval from India.
