Blue Card cancellation without joining the company?

Hello Dear all,

A friend of mine has got a job after getting his Master from Germany. He applied for a bluecard (validity till 2018 with employment contract), but before joining the company, he had to leave Germany due to family problems and couldn't give the joining to the company. Sebsequently, company sent him Kündigung Arbeitsverhältnis.
Question are:
-- Should he apply to a job search visa, if he wants to come back to Germany?
-- what will happen to the Bluecard, if he gets a job after six months again in Germany?
