Hello everyone,

I will be relocating from UAE to Germany beginning of June on an unlimited work permit.

I just read that my income in UAE will be taxed by Germany end of the year. Even though German tax authorities do not mandate filling tax returns for employees whose taxes are withheld by employers, but as I will relocate and this will be my first year of tax-residency in Germany, I will have to file income tax returns and mention my foreign income earned before relocating to Germany. I fear this will increase my tax liability quite a lot emoticon

Has anyone faced this, and if yes, what proof of income has to be shown? Since UAE does not have income tax, I do not have any tax documents from UAE.

Would appreciate any feedback and experiences on this.
