I plan to open a resturant in Germany. Can somebody help me regarding which government authority to contact for permission. I have a normal work permit (not GC) and will be eligble for unbefristet stay permit in next few months

Any help would be appreciated.

from 1.07.2005 you need to have a special permit only if you will sell alcoholic drinks as well. in such case you apply for a permission (Gaststättenkonzession) in your local Ordnungsamt. you need to provide some other documents with an application, like Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung from Finanzamt, get a list of those from your local IHK
