Dear All,

I have few questions about  "Erwerbstätigkeit gestattet" (Freelancer)

- Is it possible to apply for the Freelance option in case of job loss?
- How & when can I get the Freelance option on my BlueCard?
- What are the criterias to get the Freelance?

Hi Hemanth,

just visit your local alien office and ask for a work permit change to 'Erwerbstätigkeit gestattet'. 

It depends how long you have been working in Germany and it is also a matter of luck. Tell them that you want to save the 'Agentur für Arbeit' some money for your unemployment benefits, because your chances to find work are much better if you are selfdependent.

And yes I did have a look at the "Visit at the alien office' article.
