Hello,
I am an Indian and blessed with baby last month. Now I want to apply a passport for my baby. I came to know through some of my friends that my kid is eligible to get german passport as I have been in germany for 10 years but today I have been to auslanderbehoerde and they have rejected us saying that my kid is not eligible as my stay in Germany as a student ( i.e 4 years from 2003-2007) doesn't count and only the numbers of years  that I worked ( i.e 6 years from 2007-current) counts. 

I would like to know if the above mentioned constarints are true.

Hello,

Do you have Niederlassungserlaubnis?
When yes your new born is eligible for Passport.
