Urgent question - Blue Card: any disadvantages?

Can any one tell me if switching from resident permit under paragraph 18 to Blue-Card may bring any disadvantages?
For example, not being eligible to receive Kindergeld any more? 
Also what are the limitations brought by Blue card regarding changing the employer etc.?
