I am leaving Germany wanted to know the "Abmeldung" process.

I need to produce the "Abmeldung" document for some reasons (giving notice to insurances and so on.)

I have enquired with the local Einwohnermeldeamt and they said that it is not possible to give the "Abmeldung" for a future date. They asked me to come 1-2 days before leaving (as I am leaving on Sunday) and they will give it for that particular date and not the flying date.

Does somebody of you have any experience/idea regarding this?

I guess i did it a week before in 2005 as i had to submit it for my Telephone stuff. btw i did it in Berlin. Rgds
